Google Now Promoting Chrome On Facebook!

Google launched its new unique fast browser September 2, 2008. From then on Google was promoting Chrome everywhere – From search to Orkut and every service they provided. Now they have moved one step further in the market by promoting Chrome on Facebook! I was really amazed to see Chrome been sponsored on Facebook sidebar.

Google is able to sum up 409,440 fans till 24th march & still increasing. Google is taking the advantage of Cricket fever & promoting chrome as Google promises that watching IPL online would be more fun on Chrome with more speed! (You can see IPL online on youtube .com/IPL )

I think this is a good move for promoting Chrome as Facebook ranked 1 in terms of traffic for over 1 week defeating Google. Facebook is today the best platform for business owners to promote their business to over a large amount of people. Facebook has definitely become a great social network in terms of both social networking & promoting business. Social networking today is not only left just to making friends & chatting.

Hope this could be the sign of Google closing orkut which is not a good sign as Google was not giving proper attention in promoting orkut. Orkut could have been more dominating today if google took the right step. And even instead of coming up with Google buzz, they should have worked upon Orkut & should have come up with more unique features.

Since i ended up writing this post the fans count raised to 409,691 fans!

WARNING : Facebook Password Reset Confirmation Mail - Malware

Recently Facebook users got caught inside the scoop of the Hackers. The hackers sent a mail to the users of Facebook telling them that your Facebook password has been changed due to some security reasons and the new password has been attached with the mail. When the user opens that attachment, They get pranked by the hackers and then a software gets installed on your computer which will not only hack your Facebook password, all the passwords & username combinations will get transferred to the hacker. This email claims that it has been sent from Facebook.

This email looks like this :

which has the subject as “Facebook Password Reset Confirmation. Customer Support.”

Though the body of the message looks somewhat straight, But if you open the attachment you will get all your password hacked from your computer. The hackers looks pretty smart.

Facebook said that They don’t send any mail which has any attachment. If they find any security changes to be done in any account, they just send a link & the user has to enter new password there. McAfee has already given this warning, due to the many users being affected.

Hated the New Orkut Themes? - Just Disable Them!

Some days before Orkut introduced 18 new themes to its new interface. But this can happen that a product is useful for one, but not for the other. No problem! Just disable the the orkut themes & surf orkut without themes!

New orkut themes are just awesome. But if you didn’t liked them you can disable them. However if your internet connection is too slow for the new themes, you have another reason to disable them.

To disable them just click on Themes on the homepage &then check Browse orkut without themes.

You are done. Now you would not see themes in any profile on orkut!

Update Your Twitter Account from Orkut via TwitKut!

Yes guys you heard it right. You can now update your Twitter status with being active onto orkut! Ankit Ahuja sometime back introduced a new application to orkut with the help of which you can update your Twitter account with the help of orkut without even logging into orkut!

With Twitkut you can even see friends tweets. But friends here refer to only the people who are using twitkut application. But still you can tweet from this application.

But one drawback is you cannot update your orkut status with the help of Twitkut. Though you can visit the application page & post the recent tweet to your updates. But your status update will not get changed with the help of Twitkut. You need to manually do it.

Orkut recently secretly added a new feature to orkut. When you join any community, it will be visible to all of your friends on their homepage as an update.

This is actually an attempt to bump communities on Orkut as the integrity of communities was somewhere got lost with the addition of new features like Status update as when you update your status, people will comment on it & it will act like a forum. This way no one would be interested in going to the communities.

Google recently launched a new Orkut extension for google chrome. everyone was deliberately waiting for this as there was a very tough competition coming from other social networks like Facebook & twitter. How To Get Back Your Hacked Gmail/Orkut/Google Account!

With the recent cyber attacks on Google in china, Even if you think you are secured, But you may not be! Even if you think you must wait & first read this post.

As google is a multi functional website offering us many services like Gmail, orkut, Blogger, Picassa, chackout, ADSENSE . It would become a worst nightmare if our Google accounts gets hacked!

Like many other online services Google tries to protect your account with secret question as well as optional

secondary email address. But there is one more official option which only Google Provides!

1. Trying “Forget Password Option” :

I know this will not work in most cases, as options like forget password rely on secondary email address and security question, both of which can be easily changed once a account gets hacked. Still you should try at least once as most password gets hacked by script kiddies and not by real hackers.

So go to Forget Password form first!

2. What if the above option Fails ?

You can try the “CONTACT FORM “ option by google. Please go through the following information before submitting the form. (That’s why i am not providing you the link above ) :

Your goal should be to give Google maximum & accurate data! So take your time and submit form with maximum amount of information possible. You can consult your trusted friends if you are not sure. As an example it could be Sam or Bob who invited you on orkut. If you are not sure call them up and ask it!
Submit only one form! Yes this should be common sense. Do not submit multiple forms. A person who uses around 10-15 Google products asked me if he can submit multiple forms mentioning different Google products.
Submit form from the place which you use most often to access your account like PC at home! Although they haven’t mentioned this explicitly, line above submit button says, “Please note that we need your IP address in order to resolve this issue. Your IP address will be captured automatically when you submit this form.”

Few things as example which google can ask :

Last successful login date
Account creation date
Google products you used with this account and the date you started using each one
Details about Orkut account (if you use Orkut)
Details about Blogger account (if you use Blogger)

How to protect your Orkut Album Pics from being saved [Orkut Trick]

There are a lot of security tips available by Orkut to protect our orkut albums. But you cannot let your pictures being saved. Today we are unveiling a trick by which we can disable the "right clicks" on your album pics !

How ?

Go to the older version of Orkut(you can find link near logout in Orkut).
Then you need to go to the Album pic page.
Tag the image completely to any profile (preferably your own profile), without even leaving a single dot as it would destroy this trick.

It will disallow the right clicking to any image of your orkut album pic! Try saving the pic in the link given here but don’t use the print screen button as that always works.

Rules Have Changed – How to Gain Ownership of Ownerless Communities?

We have earlier shared ways to take ownership of your community even if your profile gets deleted and for those community hungry guys, wrote about the trick to find ownerless communities. A lot of time has passed and some things have changed. Today, i would like to update you with the new rules of taking ownership of ownerless communities. New Rule for Taking Ownership of Ownerless Communities

The required community membership age to assume ownership of an ownerless community has been updated. It previously used to be a week. Now you need to have been a member of the community for at least 3/4th the age of the community to be eligible for the same. In other words only old community members will see the ‘gain ownership’ link. This change was made to ensure the safely of orkut communities and might be further tweaked in the best interest of orkut and its users. We are in the process of updating the Help center and all other related pages- I will post back here when the changes are live. In the meantime, thanks to all of you for flagging this for us! So, earlier any member of that particular community who was 7 days old was able to take ownership of that ownerless community but as per the new rule, you need to be thye member of the community for atleast 3/4th the age of community. A nice update.. Google explains it here. Also note: In case your profile gets deleted, moderators of the community will not automatically be granted ownership of the community as per google’s clarification here. In any case, adding your freind’s or your other profile as co-owner of your community.

If you are not a blogger, here is the way to insert orkut profile in your blog or web site. Copy HTML code below & paste it in your page where you want to display orkut profile.

Many of you must have seen profiles of people having images in their about me section. With the use of this we can get stats of how much people visit your profile & how much are on your profile & from which country . Example My profile (Click here) You must be using New Orkut for this purpose .

Consider the Following steps :

1. Just go to amung.us & copy the code highlighted in the picture : 2. Now open your scrapbook & then click on HTML [] & then paste the code you copied in Step 1 . 3. Now select the following code :

4. Now change your-code with the code you got in step1 & then click HTML again . 5. You will see the preview of an image like this . Now to get the stats you need the code (copied from step 1) . Copy the link :

Welcome your profile visitors with a Song of your choice ! But you need to be using New Orkut for this purpose. I got to know about this feature When i was surfing profile on orkut i got a profile on which there was a song embedded on his profile. Many of my friends asked me about this so i Added it to 123Orkut.tk for your use!

Follow These Steps :

First get your song .swf code from any site (say mp3orkut.com )
Now go to your scrapbook & then click on HTML [] & then paste the code there .
Now select this part of code that is given below in bold: ie in between < embed ..............> < / embed >
Now click HTML again. The preview of your song will come.
Click anywhere in the textbox (area where you write your scrap) & then press Ctrl+A & then Ctrl+C.
Now go to your profile & click to edit it (click the about e section to edit it) .
Now press Ctrl+V (from your keyboard) to pate it & then press Save .

Now you are done & you can listen your song!

Hello orkuteers .OrkutKnol wishes you a very happy New Year . Akki.tk is bringing a new website for orkut users- OrkutKnol.TK which was 123Orkut.Tk before. This journey started when WazzupAkki.co.cc was introduced as a multi page website on 30th September 2008. Orkut tricks was intoduced as a seaparate page on it. The next day when i got many visitors online, I felt very happy as this is a very happy moment for a Website owner. MY INSPIRATIONS I got to know a famous & amoong the top blog acrossthe internet : OrkutPlus! which became my sole inspiration to continue with orkut. Then around July 2009 I introduced 123Orkut.TK, a site full of orkut tricks, tools, smileys & testimonials. DevilsWrokshop - DevilsWorkshop, a technology blog, is a multi author blog. I beacme very used to read DevilsWorkshop & writing on this website. With this i started to write inside 123oRKUT.TK in November 2009. But that was not enough for me. I read many blogs which taught me the principles of blogging. I talked to many bloggers & I finally started working on my blog orkutgeeks.TK. But i didnt found this name too interesting as an OrkutGeek wouldnt need any help for using orkut. So i chose orkutKnol from Orkutknol & OrkutVilla.
